I first watched Neon Genesis Evangelion in 2012 and it was a series that I had wanted to check out due to its reception and sci-fi concept.

But I know what my ears tell me, and my ears tell me this sounds SO much richer and fuller than the original DVD audio. Inside, we get a 40-page companion booklet/artbook and 8 art cards, which is the same artwork that you’ve no doubt seen on the covers of the Platinum Edition DVD’s.

There are references to esoteric mysticism such as Lilith, the Chamber of Guf, and the Spear of Longinus; the names of all the Angels are borrowed from Judeo-Christian mythology, and even the supercomputers are named after the traditional Three Wise Men.

I totally understand why it would utterly blow the minds of the kids who saw it on the initial run—it was aired in Japan as children’s TV… it’s anything but. The disks themselves are dark blue and come in Evangelion themed cases with the Unit-01 case containing the Netflix dub, and the Unit-02 case containing the ADV Dub.

If the TV series was an reflection of Anno's dealing with his depression, then THE END OF EVANGELION was a dive into his worst nightmares. versions, with more precise positioning of dialogue and effects throughout the soundstage, and frequent use of the split surrounds—it’s a genuine 5. Evangelion has been interpreted and re-interpreted and RE-RE interpreted over the course of the last twenty years, with each frame and shot of the movie being picked apart and explained in great detail, and now that the series and movies have been bumped up to High Definition, even more conversations and discussions are waiting to be had in the forum that is the anime fandom.

Fly Me to the Moon" might still play but it plays very quietly and with the exception for Episode 2 it's almost completely gone. Of course, the way that resolution is handled in The End of Evangelion leaves a trail of death and destruction in its wake. Please Note: The standard-edition doesn't include the original dub (nor does it include the original subtitle translations).I’d rather read some 150-page Albert Camus book than watch a goofy, melodramatic mecha anime show that lasts 26 episodes plus with a feature film. The other reason is the fascinating mythology that surrounds the series, which freely combines elements from Christianity, Judaism, the Kabbalah, and much, much more. For fucks sake, in an interview with the director of Darling in the Franxxx, when the fanbase outside of Japan was brought up, the director said, “wait, we have fans overseas?

The first Evangelion feature film was originally released in 1997 as Evangelion: Death and Rebirth, with a running time of 100 minutes total. If you're an old school purist who watched the OG DVD or even VHS releases, the blu ray will apparently disappoint in that it doesn't feature the "fly me to the moon" ending credits scenes and it uses the newer dub which changed some dialogue around.

Deleted Live Action Scene, Making of Live Action Scene, Theatrical Teaser, Theatrical Trailer, TV Spots, Final Scene Alternate Take, FULL SONG - MUSUNDE HIRAITE, EPISODE:25 'Love is destructive. There’s a pleasing sense of texture, which is missing from modern digital animation, with the brush strokes still visible on the background artwork.
