Reproduced by permission of the National Library of Scotland FONTHILL MATERNITY HOME, 60 Fonthill Road, ABERDEENA domestic house was taken over by Aberdeen Corporation in 1945 and opened as a maternity unit in 1946. Latterly it acted as an annexe to the Aberdeen Maternity Home. Still marked as a maternity home on maps of the 1970s, and was still operating in 1990. The building was still extant in 2019, but is no longer in hospital use. Throughout this 12-week first phase, each person will develop a clear vocational goal and readiness to progress onto work placement. Morningfield was transferred to the National Health Service in 1948, and was then designated as a geriatric hospital. It closed in 1998, the original building is still extant, converted to residential use. The 1891 wing and post-war additions have been demolished and further housing built in the grounds with the creation of Morningfield Mews. [ Sources: H.C. As you know, volunteers are always active at the heart of every UK community, even more so over the last few difficult years, so this Volunteers’ Week is an opportunity to take time to thank volunteers for all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole. It’s about celebrating the huge range of people who give their time in so many ways.The Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) consists of Nursing, Medical, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), Dietetics and Neuropsychology staff. You may be asked to return to the clinic. The hospital specialist will send your GP a report advising of any treatment, or further investigations needed.
