The history in this book was very good because the book tells you about how the Egyptians lived. I would like to learn more about the Egyptians because I am interested in how you might become a pharaoh in Egyptian times. I would like to read a lot more books by Gary Northfield because he writes very funny lines in his books. The most I can say about this book is that you get what its cover promises. A fun and zany story set in Ancient Rome featuring a loveable derpy zebra. It's funny but tedious in the way many humourous children's books are.

This book is so hilarious and just so silly but with a brilliant story too! ‘Julius Zebra Rumble with the Romans’ is the first book in the Julius Zebra series with the second and third books being ‘Bundle with the Britons’ and ‘Entangled with the Egyptians’. This book is where the adventures of Julius begins. Having been forced to go to the lake with his mother and his brother Brutus, Julius wants nothing more than to leave the stinky place and go home. But when a stampede of animals runs from the lake Julius finds himself alone, with a very annoying warthog, and together they have to escape both a lion and the Romans who are after them. As well as providing much hilarity Julius Zebra cunningly educates about Ancient Rome without ever feeling like a lesson [...] A wonderfully ridiculous book; full of fun it will educate and entertain in equal measures. Highly recommended. The School Librarian Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - Zebra Julius je vskutku veľmi milá detská kniha. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. The Dutch translation was really well done. Sometimes humour doesn't get translated well (like with Disc World for instance), but in this one the translator managed to translate and hold the humour. Good job! I think that Julius Zebra is a very funny book full of comedy. Another very good thing about it is that it includes a lot history, like how the Britons would fight the Romans in a battlefield. It relates to real life as well because the Romans had the Coliseum to fight in with different gladiators. The book makes you actually feel like you’re the zebra going up to fight against the Britons. My favourite part was when the Romans where on a holiday on a cruise ship and they want to escape, so they come up with a master plan of dressing up like fish and diving into the ocean. This overall was a really great book it was full of emotions and really was a great book.

This is a funny and interesting book ideal for anyone aged 6-12 who likes a good story, embedded with facts from the real world .I would recommend this book to children the same age as me so that they can learn about Romans and become interested in them like me. When they get there they meet a group of other animals: Felix, who is a nice but dim giraffe, Rufus, the simple antelope, Lucia, the ditsy, vegetarian crocodile and Pliny, the feisty, little mouse. We join Julius and his friends on their epic adventure. They are made to join a gladiator school run by Septimus, the angry gladiator teacher, who sets about training them to fight the deadliest battle of their lives!

Welcome to the world of Julius Zebra. He is a cranky teenage zebra heading for the waterhole with his mom and friends, just like all of us, when out the blue a lion comes and shouts for all to head for the hills due to an unknown threat. As it turns out the threat is a Roman battalion collecting animals to provide entertainment at gladiator bouts. From there to a cliff-hanging end of the book, Julius and his friends do their best to please Emperor Hadrian and survive run-ins with the gladiators. Derek the Sheep began appearing in The Beano from February 2004, and is unique in that it is The Beano 's first and only creator-owned character. [5] [6] [4] A collection of early Derek the Sheep stories was published by Bloomsbury Publishing in September 2008 and in France by Actes Sud/Editions De L'an2, [7] reprinting the first thirteen strips in The Beano. When Pippin discovers she possesses magical powers, she uses her newfound skills to investigate the mysterious water shortage in Funsprings. This hilarious fantasy adventure will have readers rolling around with laughter. The main character is Julius. Here is some information about him he: likes porridge, gets on well with a lion and he is a champion gladiator and clever. This is what some of the other people in the book think of him: he hates the stinky lake, a bit of a loser, probably got eaten by a lion and stupid. Julius Zebra is a soldier. There were many parts of the book that I really liked reading about. I especially enjoyed reading about the things Romans did when they travelled to Britannia because I learnt they had to do chores when they really wanted to relax because they thought they were on holiday.

Imagine Gladiator, Ben Hur or Spartacus, where the hero is replaced by a rather nervous, slightly daft and totally naive zebra, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Rumble with the Romans. Add in a healthy dollop of toilet humour and a host of other equally bonkers animal characters and you have a book that will cause many a giggle and guffaw amongst the 7 pluses (and most likely their parents as well). I would like to start by saying that Julius Zebra is really funny and his friends are too! Their conversations make you feel part of their adventures. The training for gladiators was pretty fun to watch, if it wasn't for those annoying human gladiators who really need to get their heads out of their butts. Gee, he already said he was sorry and that the didn't mean it the way he meant it. And yes, he humiliated you, but come on, that is how it works in gladiator stuff. I did like that the animals were so dedicated to the cause. And that Plinie was helping them out afterwards with some more training. Oh, and I didn't even think Plinie was that annoying in this one. *cheers* World's Greatest Heroes (2008-2010) and Max the Mouse [18] (2010–present) — National Geographic KidsJulius Zebra wordt gevangen genomen door de Romeinen, en komt er zo in een bruisend Rome terecht, waar hij tot gladiator wordt getraind en voor zijn vrijheid moet vechten.
