Resinous wood, such as Larch or Douglas Fir, needs to weather off for at least 6 weeks to improve absorbency. Pressure impregnated wood and tropical species like Massaranduba, Bangkirai, Garapa, Iroko need to weather off for at least 3 months. Cedar requires a 3 month weathering period to improve absorbency.

Containing a high quantity of pigments and oils, Osmo wood finishes leave a stunning surface finish after just one or two coats, without the need for a primer or base coat. Providing a satin-matt, smooth finish, Osmo Bangkirai Wood Oilis highly water-resistant, dirt-repellent and offers easy maintenance.

Use a stiff nylon brush or soft cloth and apply a thin coat evenly and thoroughly along the wood grain.

Coverage will vary depending on the type of wood, age and surface texture. Application & Maintenance Advice Ipe: 6-8 weeks exposure. 006 Bangkirai is optically suitable and a very popular choice of colour tone. Pressure-impregnated wood, Massaranduba, Bangkirai, or Garapa need to weather off for at least 3 months. Bare wood species with a high content of natural wood extractives need to weather off (min. 4 weeks) before the initial treatment or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner (degreaser).

Osmo paints dry through oxidation - therefore require good ventilation to dry. Approximately 10-12 hours should be expected per coat. This means you can achieve near to double the square meter coverage with just one tin compared to an ordinary finishing system. Ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Thoroughly clean or lightly sand old microporous stains or completely remove old varnishes before application.
