Dark Angels are Space Marines, and they don’t fall far from the Index’s tree – you can see the Faction Focus for the Core Chapters here which covers the generic information for both Marines and Gladius Task Force. Primaris Company Champion: B Tier: Yet another good leader choice for Bladeguard; probably not worth it with anything else (maybe Assault Intercessors?). Can potentially assassinate enemy characters in melee thanks to Precision on his weapon.

The last unit that I want to cover isn’t super Dark Angels specific, but it does benefit heavily from working alongside such a heavy pushing unit as the Deathwing Knights, which is a Land Raider Redeemer filled to the brim with 6 Aggressors and an Apothecary Biologis with Bolter Discipline. Piloted by great success by Lesiu of Team Poland on their way to a WTC victory, this behemoth of a unit with insane damage output courtesy of “Lethal Hits, Sustained Hits 1, Critical Hits on a 5+, +2 AP and Ignore Cover with Oath Of Moment” is capable of crunching through a Wraithknight with around 16 average damage and a lot of room to spike high. Delivery is manageable through the resilience of the platform, and Squad Tactics allows the unit to do some shenanigans if anyone tries to get close. Repulsor Executioner: B Tier: Its main gun is legit powerful, but I'm not sure it's worth the points, and it can't tranport that many models. Its ability makes it good for finishing off models like Knights that are already hurt.Though lightly armoured, Land Speeders are heavily armed and versatile, able to carry devastating anti-infantry or anti-tank firepower. The Land Speeder Tornado is more heavily armed still, equipped with an additional chin-mounted heavy weapon to bolster its role as a mobile firebase. The Land Speeder Typhoon is another common variant, mounting a formidable Missile Launcher battery in addition to its crew-manned heavy weapon to break up enemy troop and vehicle formations from a distance. Aggressor Squad: B Tier: These guys are tough and with twin-linked on their fists can punch above their weight class, but you do pay for that utility. I don't think these are bad, but I'm not sure they're as good as terminators either.

Ravenwing Talonmaster: A Tier: Not as nasty as in the previous edition, as he now has half the firepower he had before because Twin-linked. Still a decent tool to have, as he lets nearby Bikes and Speeders ignore cover, useful in a world where weapons generally have less AP than before. Probably don't take more than one anymore though. Actually funnily enough there might be a strange rules loophole that makes running more than one a good play: as a Fly Vehicle, a Talonmaster provides Lone Operative to another Talonmaster, so two or three of these next to each other grant each other immunity to shooting. I expect this to get corrected if it hasn't already been, but for now enjoy the jank! Lieutenant with Combi-weapon: D Tier: His weapon is good vs. Tyranids, which is funny but way too specific, and his other abilities just don't add enough for his points. Raven Guard - The Raven Guard Space Marine Legion and Chapter have made use of the Land Speeder since the days of the Great Crusade. Several Land Speeders were used during the more recent Raid on Kastorel-Novem, against Ork forces.Land Speeder Tornado: A Tier: Expensive, but its strafe ability is great for pumping out a few cheeky mortal wounds to a tougher squad. Grab an Assault Cannon and Multimelta for some decent firepower too. Vanguard Veteran Squad: B Tier: These models are fine. Not great, just fine. They do make a good retinue for Ezekiel, who makes them capable of turning hordes into fine pink mist. Anything beefier than that (like Terminators or Custodes) and they'll bounce hard. Thus was born the Land Speeder Vengeance, a strike vehicle exclusively employed by the Unforgiven Chapters. Codex Adeptus Astartes - Dark Angels (7th Edition) (Digital Edition), "Ravenwing Vengeance Land Speeders", "Ravenwing Support Squadron", "Ravenwing Darkshroud"

This unit did see a buff in the new book. At first glance dropped by 20 points, gained a hull point, the ravenwing rule, and its assault cannon option got cheaper. But the biggest change came in the weapon profile of the Plasma Battery, which now sits at a comfortable 36”. While still prone to Gets Hot, at least being glanced to death from small arms fire has become a lot less common. You can tweak this squad (talking about the whole entry not just my example) however you need it to. They are one of the few entries in this book that can be built as a core focus of a list, or tailored to compliment a core of your list. If your Lion's Blade demi company is a bunch of close range drop pod space marines, maybe you need some long ranged firepower to soften up some targets before they all hit the board. Additionally, if you know you need some anti-horde, giving them heavy flamers and roasting a bunch of charging boys/gaunts, have at it. The LSV makes a great addition as I said earlier, now that you can hide it within the squad (something I always wanted!). Unlike the other speeders, it doesn't have Grim Resolve though. Which means that it won't fire BS2 or full BS overwatch if you're bringing it in a Support Squadron as an Auxillary to a Lion's Blade.Librarian in Terminator Armor: A Tier: Another great character option for Terminator units. Sustained Hits is a great buff for regular shooty Termies, as they carry Storm Bolters and can take Assault Cannons with lots of shots, so plenty of chances to proc those extra hits. It does work in melee too, of course.
