Using a narrow rule of law and precedents in which an art restitution law was retroactively applied, Schoenberg files a claim in US court against the Austrian government contesting their claim to the painting. An appeal goes to the Supreme Court of the United States, where in the matter of Republic of Austria v. Altmann, the court rules in Altmann's favor, which results in the Austrian government attempting to persuade Altmann to retain the painting for the gallery, which she refuses. After a falling out over the issue of returning to Austria for a second time to argue the case, Altmann agrees for Schoenberg to go and argue the case in front of a panel of three arbiters in Vienna. At the time, she mainly involved in painting sketching. As she had no idea about writing & publishing, she started reading all that she could find in the library. She read many articles and information on creative writing, publishing, etc. Strauss even went through each of the magazines of Writer’s Digest. All of this helped her in getting started and then benefitted her in the long run. It took Strauss some time to get used to the craft, but she managed it pretty well. Strauss loves the idea of writing from anywhere, as it gives her the freedom of choosing her own work and rest time. Strauss also likes the mobility that it gives to her. She has planned to publish some more titles in the coming days and hopes she will be to entertain her fans with her future books as well.
