About this deal

Can the filters be used for spring/rain water? - The diatomaceous earth ceramic shell of the filters will remove particles to 0.2 micron size with >99.9% efficiency, which will filter >99.9% of bacteria & cysts. You may be surprised to learn that tap water in Malaysia is actually safe to consume. The level of particles in Malaysian tap water is generally below permitted levels, and the water quality is regularly monitored based on global quality standards.

Water filter pitchers use gravity filtration, so even the best water filter pitcher will produce water at a slow and steady rate. It typically takes 10-20 minutes for a full pitcher of water to be filtered, depending on the filter age and design. The best water filter pitchers are plastic, with no option for a stainless steel design upgrade. With that said, you can still enjoy quality filtration from a stainless steel pitcher, even if its water filter isn’t as capable of thorough contaminant removal as other filters. There's no warranty to speak of on this system. They only guarantee that the system will arrive free of damage and defects, or you can return it within 30 days. We think design is one of the standout features of the Invigorated Water pH Vitality Water Filter Pitcher. It has a modern look, with a sleek stainless steel pitcher and a wooden handle. We can find no mention of plastic, either, which suggests this is the only pitcher on this list to be actually made from stainless steel, rather than plastic with a steel overlay. That was on one filter straw, mind you. Not a single replacement was needed. One LifeStraw water filter lasts for approximately 1000 gallons (4000L) of water so it comes with the peace of mind that you’re not going to suddenly be filter-less mid-adventure.

Add-on Products

We noted that the Epic Pure filters were very similar to the ProOne Big+ filters when it came to contaminant removal. We analyzed the contaminant removal datasheets for both systems to compare their performance and found that the Epic Pure filters could remove very similar levels of 200+ contaminants, including nitrate, chlorine, fluoride, VOCs, arsenic, lead, and PFAS. The ProOne G2.0 filters generally removed slightly higher concentrations of contaminants, but not by much. That was impressive to us given that the Epic Pure filters are so much smaller and have less physical room for filtration, although of course, their performance still doesn’t quite match up to the Clearly Filtered pitcher’s superior 365+ contaminant removal. We were pleased to note that Epic’s performance claims are supported by independent testing to NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, and 401, so we didn’t have only Epic’s word to go by. Simple Design For Easy Use If you’re concerned about the weight of a large stainless steel jug when it’s full, opt for a smaller model. But if you have a big family and want to limit your refills as much as possible, go for a bigger pitcher. Maintenance & Filter Changes I think you could say that the filters should be cleaned to enhance both the function and useful life. Dirt and other junk from the water will build up on the exterior surface of the filter and slow down or prevent water from being drawn into the filter. Keeping them clean will result in a faster flow rate. And if you never clean them, they’ll get to the point where they won’t work at all, even if they’re not technically at the end of life. The downside is the design; I mean, just look at the thing. You’d think a high-tech filtration bottle that filters out radioactive contaminants would look less like the bottle I took to school when I was seven. It’s clunky and unwieldy and coming in at 28 fl oz (830 mL) just makes it a bit more chunky than necessary. Disclaimer: I'm not a scientist. I'm a consumer, just like you. But we can read, and we have brains, so we can take the information that's available and try to make a reasonable choice.

The Invigorated pH Vitality Stainless Steel Alkaline Water Pitcheris an excellent stainless steel choice for anyone who needs a BPA certified alkaline filter pitcher in the fridge. The sleek look is a game changer for passing around the kitchen table. Key Features:Generally speaking, sizes range from about 500-1000 mL (17-34 fl oz). The bottom end of the scale gives you something more ultralight; the top end will be bulkier but you’ll also be stopping for refills half as much. See, maths is useful! It all depends on how much pure drinking water you think you need. A water filter cleans tap water through its filtration system, working to remove contaminants, sediments, chlorine, and other harmful particles that one can find in unfiltered water. We mentioned that the ProOne Big+ is a stainless steel gravity filtration unit. You’ve probably seen a few of these around, and we’ve tested a handful of them, too. The Berkey system is perhaps the most well-known in this category, but we’ve personally tested this system and we determined that the ProOne Big+ is the better of the two. Design-wise, the ProOne Big+ had a few free features that came at an extra cost with the Berkey system in our testing. These included a stand for the unit, which raised it off the surface of our counter and enabled us to hold a glass beneath the spigot without having to position the unit right on the edge, and a stainless steel spigot with a sturdier, safer design than plastic alternatives. Brita is one of the most well-known water filter brands, so it’s no surprise the brand's Elite water filter did a stellar job in our testing and filtered over 30 contaminants.

The fact is, you’ve gotta travel with a bottle. If you’re not doing that already, we’re going to have a serious chat. The impact of plastic bottles on the environment is abhorrent: don’t be a part of the problem.

Day Risk-Free Guarantee, 5-year limited warranty (Stainless), 1-year limited warranty (ProOne® G2.0) You can either lift the upper container to see the water level or use a sight glass spigot (optional) which shows the water level in the lower container. Remember to use water from the bottom container before refilling the upper container. Yes – based on our own testing experience, some gravity water filters are excellent, performance-wise. We’ve tested gravity filters that can remove 200 or even 300+ contaminants from water, with third-party performance testing or official certifications to prove it. Do gravity-fed water filters work? Hi, Tom! Thanks for your great questions and for sharing your what you learned when you called Propur. Let me try to answer your questions. You and your family can rest assured that your water is free from the harmful additives being routinely added to it at source. Optional limescale reduction means the Newton Gravity-Powered Water Filter System represents a step up in class from other comparable systems, offering the highest filtration performance of any Gravity-Powered filter system.

Remove your filters from the upper container. Hold the filter by the blue plastic base. Place the ceramic portion under cool running water for about 2 minutes. Scrub the white ceramic material with the abrasive side of the included sponge. Rinse well. Do NOT use any soap on the filter. Do NOT allow water to enter the stem of the filter. Lay filters on the side until ready to install. It filters 100% of pathogenic bacteria and protozoan cysts from any water source, may that be the kitchen tap, rivers, lakes, or rainwater butts ensuring that in any #SHTF eventuality, you will have uninterrupted access to potable water. As a traveler, it’s essential to stay hydrated, especially when exploring new and unfamiliar places. However, tap water quality can be questionable in some destinations, and buying bottled water can be expensive and environmentally damaging. That’s where filtered water bottles come in. Nope, you’ll be still getting all your nutrients. That said, if you’re travelling somewhere water needs a filter, it’s a good idea to drink water with the electrolyte powder added on occasion just to ensure your body is still getting the best.Stages of filtration –Like all ZeroWater pitchers, this stainless steel pitcher uses the ZeroWater Premium 5-Stage Water Filter, which treats water with a blend of 5 different filter media: an ion exchange resin, a coarse filter screen, a carbon and oxidation reduction alloy, a foam distributor, and an ultra-fine screen and non-woven membrane. The ProOne Big+ impressed us more than any other stainless steel gravity system when it came to contaminant removal. For a start, the G2.0 filters can remove arsenic and fluoride without the required investment in a separate filter, as is the case with Berkey units. Plus, the filters have been independently tested by a laboratory to NSF Standards 42, 53, P231, P401, and P473 for their ability to reduce or remove more than 200 contaminants, including chlorine, lead, emerging contaminants, disinfection byproducts, PFAS, and more. Another big performance benefit of this system for us was that it can remove microorganisms – a rare ability that most gravity filters don’t have. Price-wise, you’re looking at the premium option. It’s on the top end of the spectrum for filter bottle prices but it also tops the chart in quality. It’s one of those ‘worth the investment’ choices. Since we’re doing this in threes, there are three things to keep in mind when hunting down and choosing your water filter drinking bottle: the material, the size, and the coverage of protection. Consider these wisely and you’ll be stoked on the investment you made into your anywhere-anytime water drinking experience. Your Water Bottle’s Material We found it easier to assemble the Clearly Filtered pitcher compared to the ProOne unit. There was less effort involved in the entire process, from attaching the components to priming the filters (which is fast and easy thanks to the included reusable priming bag).
