About this deal

We use FedEx, DPD and Royal Mail for most of our deliveries. Some large items may come with other trusted 3rd party couriers.

We’d recommend these hoof boots for horses that are barefoot and just need that added bit of protection when out on the road. In terms of rehab and injury prevention they are also worthy of consideration. If turning the horse out, ensure he is happy with the feel of the boot first. In the unlikely event the horse is nervous of the boot, walk him gently around his stable so that he can get used to it. They will soon realise it is comfortable and will not impede movement. Manufactured with a grooved sole and a Kelvar® interior they offer extra grip and durability. The asymmetric zip gives the boot a closer fit and prevents the zipper from opening.Do not use the Medical Hoof Boot (MHB) in place of an overreach boot to prevent shoe loss. The MHB is not designed for this application and will not protect against overreaching. We recommend always using a generous sized overreach boot over the top of MHB to protect it should your horse stand on himself or overreach. We recommend this on both front and hind hooves Once you have pulled the boot onto the foot, let the horse put his foot down as this will help push the foot further into the boot.

Featuring a grooved sole for extra grip and a Kevlar ® interior for durability it also has an asymmetric zip to give the boot a really close fit (and prevent it opening) stopping bedding and other debris from getting inside. With everyday use in mind, the boot is also design for therapeutic and rehab purposes, and is a must have spare for any rider to have on hand. The easy fasten strap can be done effortlessly by hand, and the replaceable velcro closure extends the working life of the boot should the velcro fatigue over time. Cavallo’s Simple Hoof Boot is constructed from genuine leather which provides increased comfort and flexibility. It’s ergonomic design also features a recessed outsole – perfect for minimising pressure on the hoof wall. The boot is available in 10 different sizes. Please view the size guide image for fitting details. You may also need to go up a size if your horse will have a shoe on. Th medical boot is machine washable at 30 degrees. Overreaching If your horse requires a poultice, put it on the affected area in the normal way and secure it in place with some adhesive bandage. You will not need to use additional materials to keep it in the place as the hoof boot will do this.

Do not use the Medical Hoof Boot (MHB) in place of an overreach boot to prevent shoe loss. The MHB is not designed for this application and will not protect against overreaching. If your horse is inclined to overreach then an overreach boot should be used over the MHB to protect both the horse and the MHB from damage. A unique close fitting hoof boot designed to keep wounds, poultices and dressings clean. This durable boot is suitable for stable and restricted turnout use enabling your horse to enjoy some freedom instead of being kept in his stable. Available in 10 different sizes, (please see picture for more details and guide) the boot is designed for use with or without a shoe. It can assist in a number of ailments to the foot such as abscesses, punctured sole or bruised sole. If the horse has a lot of feather, you may struggle to get the zip done up so these may need clipping.

Use the size guide to ensure you have the closest fit for your horse or pony - this boot must be a really snug fit, like a wetsuit. Note - If your horse has specialist or remedial shoes, or large shoes such as Eggbars or Heartbars, you may need to go up a size to accommodate these. We recommend working with your farrier to ensure you get the most applicable size for your horse.

Woof Wear

The Woof Wear Medical Hoof boot has been designed to fit closely around the hoof and be a stretch fit around the pastern. If this is achieved, the boot will not fall off and is less likely to be trodden on with the other foot. Available in 10 different sizes based on shoe size, the boot is designed for use with or without a shoe (you may need to go up a size if using with a shoe on). It can assist in a number of ailments to the foot such as abscesses, punctured sole or bruised sole. iii) No need to add extra for dressings (if dealing with an abscess, no extra bandages are required, only your Animalintex/poultice, a turn or two of wrap to keep that in place, then the boot on top – nothing else)

Many barefoot horses are kept in less than optimum conditions, yet still display the soundness and vigour of horses who are kept closer to the ‘ideal. One thing to consider if you can’t decide if your horse should be barefoot, is to remember that the option of shoeing will always be there! The hoof boot from HKM is a great beginner boot that won’t break the bank and will give you and your horse a taste of the barefoot lifestyle. We would still recommend Cavallo if your budget allows. Can all Horses go Barefoot? The Woof Wear Medical Hoof Boot is a unique close-fitting boot that is designed to keep wounds, poultices and dressings clean, and to assist in the treatment of a number of ailments to the foot such as abscesses, punctured soles or bruised soles. The asymmetric zip gives this boot a really close fit to limit bedding and other debris from getting inside.
