About this deal

Apply the solution. Completely cover the metal with the solution on the cloth. Apply liberally to ensure a high-quality finish. Don’t worry if the metal turns a darker colour – this is only temporary while the silver transfers onto the metal. Magically transform articles and add value! Instantly plate a layer of pure silver onto heavily worn silver articles. It isn't terrible...I got some decent results on some horns, but there were also some instances where the plater just did not 'take' well to the bare brass on some patients, resulting in just a slight silvery sheen to the bare brass....this despite me prepping all the horns in the same way. As long as it isn’t opened, the silver plating solution doesn’t have a shelf life. Once opened, however, it depends on how much you have used and therefore how much air is in the bottle - air will slowly cause the solution to dry out. Having said that, members of staff here have bottles which have been open and used for 3+ years which are still going strong! Is silver plating solutionthe same as electroplating? Apply with a clean soft cloth to the area to be cleaned or plated and rub firmly for 15 to 20 seconds

Top choice among professionals; it’s well established in the UK, Europe and globally for over 25 years. The solution is popular for rejuvenating antique silver, converting items to silver plate for visual, musical or electrical benefits and many more. If you want to return items that were bought more than 30 days ago, we may still accept the item but there may be an administrative charge and exclusions do apply, e.g. if the bullion has been cut to some requirements. However, please call our customer service team on 0345 100 1122 or [email protected] This advanced product is much more than a silver polish. It not only cleans tarnish from old, tired and worn out silver or silver-plated articles; it instantaneously re-plates a thin layer of pure silver onto heavily worn silver where the base metal is Brass, Copper or Bronze. There were threads discussing it with comments similar to yours here...but the reality was...while certainly the chem plater provides a result which is thinner than an electroplate...it was not 'easily worn off' in reality. I have used the 'silver-plating' polishes for many years. The results are equal to your understanding of how to use it and the quality of the substrate (IOW how clean is the brass). I have used it on instruments, mostly as touch-up to silver or silver plating but mostly on silver-plated mouthpieces. I take exception to the notion that it will not continue to build up because I've had to discontinue using it on certain parts of a valuable mouthpiece because it was filling in the maker's marks. I also don't use it on facings except for maybe one application for the same reason - build-up that will alter the facing. This is a plating solution not a polishing solution. The finish will depend on the level of polish on the metal beforeplating. So if you apply it to a highly polished copper item your finish will be a highly polished silver, if however you apply it to a matt or satin-finished metal, the finish will still bematt or satin. You may notice some improvement in the shine as you buff it with a softcloth after applying, and many worn plated metals will look much shinier simply because you have rejuvenated the silver plate. But it will not change the texture of the metal. What is the shelf life of the solution? Silver plating solution is for plating and re-plating silver and other base metals that contains copper content, allowing you to completely restore your dull looking pieces! The unique formula (formerly called Sheffco Silver Solution but now re-branded as Walsh Silver Plating Solution using the same formula and made in the UK). The solution is popular for rejuvenating antique silver, converting items to silver plate for visual, musical or electrical benefits and many more.

Two polishing cloths . One for applying the solution and another clean cloth for buffing once the solution has been applied. Protective gloves . This is mainly to prevent the solution from staining your hands and fingers a pretty unpleasant yellow hue. Finalise the piece. All that’s left to do now is to gently buff the metal with a soft polishing cloth to create a high shine and professional finish. And you’re done! Apply with a clean soft cloth/cotton wool to the area to be cleaned or plated and rub firmly for 15 to 20 secondsI ask only because, Hamilton House silver secret....which since covid apparently no longer exists....was a very good spot-chemical plating solution. It worked well in 75% of the cases I ever used it, and I had used it probably on a good 2 dozen horns.
