About this deal

Riverdale wants us to believe that Jughead will die this season and that somehow his closest friends are responsible. But everyone knows that Riverdale can’t kill off Jughead so early in the game considering how important he is to the show. Furthermore, there’s no way his friends killed him no matter the circumstances. In both the comics and animated series, Archie and Jughead are best friends despite their differing personalities. However, Riverdale explores a more realistic friendship between the two teenagers. Another convincing theory comes from Jughead’s history in the Archie Comics. Jughead is supposed to have an identical cousin named Souphead. And as Buzzfeed points out, actor Cole Sprouse is a twin, and that makes this theory even more promising. To this day, the family has no idea where Forsythe Sr. lives. The other thing is that Forsythe Sr. attended Stonewall for a short amount of time. In all likelihood, Forsythe Sr. experienced the same type of injustices that Jughead has at the hands of the more privileged kids and left when he couldn’t take it anymore.

OK, I will admit that this theory is by far the least likely, but the blood, the nakedness, the dark woods, the fire, the burning of clothes... it all feels a lot more like Riverdale's spinoff show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina rather than Riverdale itself. Fans have been clamoring for a proper crossover between the shows, and maybe Season 4 will deliver that by having Archie, Betty, and Veronica use Jughead's beanie as the catalyst for some sort of magical ritual that Sabrina taught to them. It sounds wild, but hey — something like that happened in the comics, so who knows!? Forsythe Pendleton "Jughead" Jones III is a main character on The CW's Riverdale. He is portrayed by Cole Sprouse. He's passionate about few things, including films, family, and writing and will protect them with everything he has. One of these passions reveals his soft spot for Betty Cooper, as he agrees to join the school newspaper, The Blue and Gold, despite not receiving complete creative freedom and accompanies her on her quest to find Polly and learn more about Jason's death. Also, Jughead has the abilities to open portals. He believes this power is a result of him being able to access different psychic landscapes, and thus travel to those people. He first discovered this ability after Percival invaded his mind, causing his powers to go haywire, forcing Jughead to isolate himself, though he soon heard voices from another universe, Rivervale. He began writing stories about what he was overhearing, unintentionally opening portals to this alternate world as he slept, allowing the "characters" from his stories to come through. Jughead realized he was dealing with another dimension when he came across another version of himself. Later, he enlisted Tabitha, and the two of them traveled to Rivervale. Jughead can also open portals to different locations within Riverdale, as seen when he used his powers to rescue Kevin, Reggie, and Marty Mantle. In case you’ve never read the comics or seen the show, Jughead wears a strange, crown-like hat. He’s been sporting the hat ever since the character debuted along with Archie in 1941’s Pep Comics #22. It is — rather, it was — called a “ whoopee cap,” a fedora with the brim removed and triangles cut into the bottom edge, which was folded up to create a vaguely crown-like appearance. (There’s a wonderful history of it here if you want to know more.) After the 1950s, the fad faded away, but Jughead kept his cap on.Jughead's dog in the Archie Comics was named Hot Dog. In " Chapter Thirteen: The Sweet Hereafter", when the Southside Serpents visit Jughead at FP's trailer, they are accompanied by a dog with the same name. Six years prior to the series, Jughead was playing with matches outside Riverdale Elementary School and was sent to the Riverdale Juvenile Delinquent Center for "arson" as listed on his permanent record. He was also routinely bullied throughout high school, predominantly by the football team, which included Jason Blossom and Reggie Mantle. The CW’s culture of pulling shows continues as Everyone Else Burns and Run the Burbs are removed from the schedule

The other likely option is that Jughead will wind up killing someone and rely on his friends to help him cover up the murder. This theory would explain why Betty takes charge in the clothes-burning (she is the most devoted to protecting Jughead), and Jughead could be off burying the body while his accomplices take care of the details.

Speaking at New York Comic Con, Zdarsky explained, “They didn’t have a label for it, so they just called him a woman-hater. But he’s not a misogynist — he just watches his cohorts lose their minds with hormones. People have asked me if there is going to be a romance if I’m writing Jughead -- because I’m very romantic -- and the answer is no, because there is enough of that in 'Archie.' I think something like asexuality is underrepresented, and since we have a character who was asexual before people had the word for it, I’m continuing to write him that way.” Jughead died from the Death of Firstborns despite having an older half-brother, something that kept Betty and Veronica safe from said plague. Considering the introduction of Kevin, the first openly gay character to grace the panels of “Archie Comics,” many began to question why Jughead had zero interest in either women or men or… any romantic relationship whatsoever. In “Jughead” issue #4, he is finally confirmed by writers Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson as being asexual, at least in their particular run. In addition to reading minds, Jughead has developed the ability to read memories as well, first discovered when he helped Betty rediscover her repressed memories of her father. Jughead has also discovered an ability known as telepathic erasure, which is the removal of specific images and thoughts from someone's memory. To do it, the victim has to be either asleep or distracted enough so that their subconscious is unguarded. Jughead Jones's Gallery Can Be Found Here. Another possible murder target for Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead would be none other than the mafia boss who has been making their lives hell for the past two years. Although Hiram ended up in prison at the end of Season 3, the finale showed that he is still totally in control behind bars and has a plan to get revenge on his daughter. It feels likely that Hiram will get out of jail soon enough and start threatening the Core Four again. The group has come close to killing Hiram before, so maybe they will finally pull it off in Season 4 and then have to cover up the murder. 4. They are performing some sort of spell. In a bid to get the contract to become the next ghostwriter for the Baxter Brothers books, the students were tasked with trying to commit the perfect murder by Dupont and their victim had to be Jughead. He then goes on to explain with Betty's help that this was how all of the previous ghostwriters had won their contracts and Mr Chipping was no different. But the biggest killer of them all was Dupont himself as he was the one behind the mysterious murders of the Stonewall Four who all knew his secret about taking the idea for the book series from Jughead's grandfather Forsythe I (Timothy Webber). Jughead is very family driven. Despite his father's constant screw ups and drunken mishaps, Jughead has always pushed him to be better and thought of his father as a someone deserving a second chance for trying to make an effort to change. After Jughead joined the Serpents, he made the choice to stay true to himself and better the gang. He pushes these beliefs onto the Serpents and banished anyone who disobeys, as seen with Cheryl and Toni. Since joining the Serpents, he's viewed them more as family rather than a gang. Jughead is the omniscient narrator of the series and the writer of an ongoing novel about the darkness within Riverdale, a town that while innocent on its surface, has many dark and hidden secrets. In Jughead's dream sequence in " Chapter Seven: In a Lonely Place", Jughead, Archie, Veronica, and the Cooper family appear in their original Archie comics outfits.

by Erica Mariera 4 years ago Riverdale keeps teasing Jughead’s death. However, there are some important clues that may indicate how Jughead will survive. The "S" on his clothes has a largely unexplained significance in the comics, having an intimate meaning for him that he is reluctant to share. Chance Perdomo who played Ambrose Spellman in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina originally auditioned to get the role of Jughead. Clearly, this is what that the show wants us to think, and the scene does heavily suggest that Archie, Betty, and Jughead are mourning the death of their friend. Jughead is notably absent from the scene, and his beanie (which he never takes off) is bloodied and thrown into the fire. But while this seems like what the scene is hinting at, it is hard to imagine that Riverdale would kill off Jughead, who not only serves as a main character but also the narrator for the show. 2. Jughead will kill Charles Smith. The biggest staple of Jughead's existence is his affinity for food. His stomach continues to be a bottomless pit and no matter how many burgers he shoves into his face, he is never physically satisfied. His hunger is often at the center of his sometimes silly storylines, like when he won the Ohio burger eating contest, or when he identified canned foods using only his heightened sense of smell. Some critics have said this side of Jughead’s character romanticizes unhealthy eating habits because he never puts on a single pound or plays outside.

2. Jughead will kill Charles Smith.

If you’re a fan of Archie Comics, you know Jughead Jones: Lanky, laconic, and obsessed with eating. If you’re a fan of Archie’s TV adaptation Riverdale, you know that Jughead, too: brooding, a gang leader, and the show’s theatrical narrator. The two bear little in common but their name; their deep, abiding friendship with Archie; and, most important, a strange hat they never take off — a hat that represents one of comics’ most bizarre dilemmas. The publishers of Archie Comics could have given Jughead new headgear at some point in the 1960s or ’70s, but for whatever reason, they didn’t. And then something strange happened. The longer Jughead wore the hat, the more impossible it became for him to take it off. As the whoopee cap completely faded from memory, it morphed into something more closely resembling an actual crown — no less bizarre and no less irrelevant — but it never left his head.
