About this deal

Pink Floyd announced the upcoming stand-alone release of the newly remastered ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ on CD, LP and Blu-ray. Drag out your old hi fi equipment, set it up perfectly and loose yourself in the sheer depth of this recording. The famous sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie.

Gaining an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished for their extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows. I can now finally say that the Atmos mix has at last succeeded in revealing a faithful and dynamic sound. I have the separate issues of the new vinyl, cd and Blu-ray but what is inside this package is different. Originally released in 1973 and becoming one of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s ‘ The Dark Side Of The Moon’ continues to find new audiences globally. The albums story has been told many times, none better than in the ‘classic albums’ documentary (maybe that couldn’t been included too?Maybe Roger still has the cards they used, or could be reproduced used for the interviews, which became the voices of ‘The Dark Side of The Moon’. It was originally recorded in November 1974 as part of the band’s winter tour and this is the first time it will be available as a stand-alone album, with artwork featuring an original 1973 line-drawn cover by George Hardie. The quality of this recording and the sound is just phenomenal, stereo separation is superb and I was just amazed at how it sounded. For anyone who already owns Dark Side on vinyl, all you're really paying for is that incremental improvement. To answer this, I will quote a certain tall motor journalist (you know who I mean) when reviewing the then-new Aston Martin DBS.

The Dark Side Of The Moon album was partly developed in 1972 during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London’s Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. You may be surprised it doesn’t come in a crystal case, but when you realise it’s almost like your old beaten up original’70s vinyl sleeve, only in pristine condition, you’ll soon be happy with the money you’ve spent! Yes of course the huge moments (the guitar solo on Time is awesome, so many layers), but it’s the quiet moments like the intro to The Great Gig in the Sky and Us And Them is where you notice the quality of this CD. This Box is 100% worth if you love this album, even if it’s not the best sounding (talking about the LP’s). One thing that does bug me is the material for the vinyl sleeves, since I feel like it'll keep any fingerprint I give it forever which makes me maybe not want to play it as much as I should.

The have and have not's ,those that are trying to make ends meet , with food bank's and cost of living hand out's to keep your your head above water. What musical content that’s there, is great - the LPs, CDs, DVD, Blu-rays all contain the various mixes of the album, to me they all sound phenomenal and the Atmos version is amazing. He said to his mystified colleagues that it was like a DB9 where every little piece is a little bit better. Fifty years on, in recognition of the iconic album and with the help of huge strides in technology, an official full dome experience with stunning visuals of the solar system and beyond and played out to 42 minutes of The Dark Side Of The Moon, will be released in Planetariums around the world in March. Sadly, I compared this vinyl to my original UK first pressing, this (Mint) LP cut is inferior to the original (VG+) in almost every way.For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered.
