Add the DDJ-SP1 to a set-up that supports mixing and scratching with Serato DJ Pro – for example a laptop, or timecode CDJs/turntables with a DJM-900SRT mixer – and use the pre-mapped buttons and dials to trigger 6 samples, 8 Hot Cues and more than 30 FX Powered by iZotope - without the need to touch a keyboard or mouse. The streamlined and intuitive layout allows you to incorporate drum and voice samples, sound FX and more with the touch of a button. The functionality can also be used with players and controllers that support Serato DJ but not Slip Mode. The robust build ensures durability, while the distinctive styling and aluminium jog wheel deliver a professional feel. For highly rhythmic and minimal tracks, you could probably jump right in, but doing that on tracks that follow traditional pop song structure could be disastrous.

The lightweight and sturdy construction enables the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 to be placed in flexible locations (with or without the use of the T-U101 S-stand which is sold separately) and to be set up instantly. The DDJ SP1 has been developed in partnership with Pioneer and Serato DJ specially for the software Serato DJ or Serato Scratch Live (mapping to do).If you don’t already have Serato Video activated, the DDJ-SP1 includes a license, so you can download and activate it. In either mode, the Beats encoder adjusts the timing of the beat syncing from 30 values (16th note triplet up to 32nd note dotted), and there’s a Tap tempo button, as well. The DDJ-SP1 combines all of the performance pad sections and effects from the popular DDJ-SX tool and delivers an expert-level controller.

Slip Mode – Pioneer included a Slip Mode function that enables continuous music playback in the background even when loops and hot cues are being performed.The DDJ SP1 also combines Deck and Shift select buttons to show the FX, SP-6, and Record parts of your Serato DJ software. He is also the founder of Hyper Production, a YouTube channel dedicated to helping aspiring Music Producers make better music. Each of the two deck sections have Sync on/off buttons, an Auto Loop push encoder for setting loop length and turning the loop on/off, and Slip and Censor buttons. You can use these performance pads to finger drum, incorporate your own samples, without the need for a computer.

With the software sampler open and the pads in Sampler mode, you can choose between the 4 banks of samples — Banks A, B, C, and D — with the Parameter buttons.
