About this deal

Beast is immensely compelling and a true page-turner with each of the six stories and points-of-view giving the reader an opportunity to try and figure out for themselves what went on in the tower that night and why. Wesolowski really captures the bleakness of the rugged coastal village of Ergarth and it worked so perfectly for the story he was telling.

The well-loved tale of Beauty and the Beast has a fascinating history, first starting with Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve (1695 – 1755). Their meeting, however, sets them up for conflicts they could never have expected- as Beauty struggles with a dilemma of her own sel. The author has cleverly combined a mix of urban legend, folk lore and the modern obsession with social media to produce a totally enthralling, mesmerising mystery. Her country is never merely the backdrop for human dramas but a living, breathing entity, alive with the poetry of mules and skittering stone. I loved the structure of this one, as it does read like a LiveJournal from the mid to late 2000s, and it was pretty neat getting the story told in this epistolary way (there is also a hilarious moment in the comments with a clear spam bot, man do I remember those days!Instead of a constant intensity, the suspense is build up slowly but surely, and this story will most definitely creep you out before you reach that final page. If you truly get to me (without triggering me, I should add, because that I DON’T like), I gotta give you props. The pleasures of the flesh are vulgar and unrefined, even with an element of beastliness about them… flesh plus skin equals sensuality. This is probably my least favorite of the series so far, but I still liked it, and I can't wait to check out Deity!

My first book by this author, I bought the first 3 books, which I hoped to read before my tour date as the story and its conceptualization shook me apart then brought me back. This fourth book is enjoyable but, in contrast to its predecessor, does not present a complete narrative or a revelatory conclusion. Because the sheer brilliance of each experience with this series is something that nobody should miss out on. In “The Dead Thing,” a middle-schooler struggles to deal with the aftermath of her parents’ substance addictions and split. Therefore, Vincent worked hard in the simulation, fighting monsters, leveling up, and enduring torture.

Courage, love and loyalty overcome fear, anger and envy in this timeless story, which is retold for a new generation of children, with delightful illustrations throughout. And again through the use of the gaze; ‘my eyes were level with those inside the mask that now evaded mine’ (p. In the two Beast stories there is certainly a contrast between the male and female relationships, rather than the father loving his daughter, in The Tigers Bride the father sells his daughter to gain prosperity.Matt Wesolowski is a masterful story teller and has found a unique niche in the “fictional true crime” podcast genre. At the height of her power, the Supreme Goddess Amane also known as the Beast princess sacrificed herself to save the life of children she had adopted throughout her life. As the disturbing darkness unfolds you have the old and the new, local legend, fable, folklore and myth of the Ergarth Vampire combined with social media, perverse Internet games, modern life and real-world issues in an unholy union. Legend has it this vampire is female and originally from Siberia, so with the ‘Beast from the East’ snow storms and everything it’s not that difficult to imagine that the Ergarth vampire is back with a vengeance.
