Probably it would be wiser to purchase a modern rendition of classic EDCs (for example, 4711 Mandarin and Cardamom) and get very much the same vibe with more projection and longevity for less money. Expecting a heavy, musky scent, I was surprised at the fresh citrus topnotes that leapt out at me when I tried a spray or two on my wrist. The composition opens with Sicilian Clementine, Tangelo Fruit and Mexican Tangerine blending with aromatic Thyme, Spanish Marjoram and Greek Lavender. I have figured out that here in fragrantica most loved perfumes isnt really easy to wear too dark or too exotic but most liked perfumes are the versatile ones and is easy to wear. Try layering it in the clothing it may last a bit longer than becoming a skin scent in about an hour.

The first minutes are very harsh, what you get is a high-dose citrus (dirty orange type of feel) injection.

This is the most orangey fragrance I have ever smelled aside from Cacharel's Liberte (a female fragrance). Interestingly, JV homme suffered much less from this problem though it faded faster than I would have liked too. I'm surprised that marjoram isn't the highest voted note, it's easily the most prominent to my nose after the opening and into the drydown. Mostly, what I get in the middle and base is a soapiness, which makes me think I forgot to rinse my hands after washing. i own colognes like bleu de chanel, tom ford neroli portofino, ultra male, bvlgari aqva amara, mugler A*men, perry ellis 360 red, tom ford black orchid and a few others.I love this scent along with Artisan Pure, but Artisan Pure lasts a whole 30 seconds for me and this actually lasts like its a real cologne. Said it smelled exactly like an orange scented toilet or floor cleaner her parents used all her life. I'd say this is only really a casual summer scent at best, and despite the masculine lean early on, can be quite unisex because who doesn't love neroli?

The scent is rather short-lived and weak by the performance standards of most modern "cologne bros" but such is the case with most of the Varvatos house to begin with, since Varvatos doesn't like strong fragrances and prefers them to be more of a second-skin. Recommendations, use with Canvas and Concrete Fragrance Primer to increase longevity without the interference of skin chemistry.Think about how terrible that sounds, imagine being around someone who sprayed a fragrance 17 times. The fragrance reinvents the "splash" feeling by blending state-of-the-art, abstract notes with classic citrus and herbal tones for a contemporary twist on the traditional cologne.

Artisan by John Varvatos (2009) is a staple and surprisingly non-aquatic fresh fragrance that kicked off the long-legged line of the same name, with a now-iconic wicker wrap around the standard Varvatos bottle. There have been instances that I bought a frag on impulse and ended up giving it away or throwing it in the trash. if thats not all, i was testing out prada amber and tom ford grey vetiver cause i wanted to get somthing cleaner, im narrowing down my cologne collection and just wanna stick to what i think is sexy. Smells like a batch of citrus fruit, but by the time I'm at work it's pretty much a super close skin scent. Artisan uses things like tangelo and murraya, but it smells rather ordinary - a sweet spicy grapefruit cologne.

Sometimes I do wish it was a little stronger, but I also know that would almost certainly ruin the natural smelling blend as it would need more synthetic (and often fairly offensive to my nose) aroma chemicals like all the other modern frags. This is that orange creamsicle scent, that I've heard people say ADG Absolu smells like but not at all.
