In 1948, Butlin acquired two hotels in the Bahamas, and in the 1950s Butlin's began acquiring hotels in England and Wales: Saltdean, near Brighton (1953), Blackpool (1955) and five in Cliftonville (1955–1956). Located just a 2-hour drive from London and with direct train links to the capital to Bognor Regis plus on-site free parking this brilliant resort truly has it all.

The Grosvenor Suite is the largest with space for up to 400 followed by the Regency Suite for 300 delegates.Character photo shoots, adventure golf, fairground, Little Stars Funfair and Splash Waterworld are all freeflow. Three of the original camps remain open under the Butlins brand in Bognor Regis, Minehead, and Skegness. Please note that your family break must include your child’s main carer and the child you applied for.I know there are lots of single adults who are perfectly safe to be holiday in a child friendly place but unfortunately there are some that aren't and this spoils it for everyone else and Butlins should have quite strict safeguarding policies that they will need to follow. However, while that might work for the bigger shows where you could get a seat at the back (the standby queue is let in after people with tickets) you are less likely to be able to do one of the smaller activities. Within the resort amongst the several outstanding venues are 3 hotels and apartments offering accommodation for 100’s of guests, a fairground, water park, bowling alley, spa and a huge variety of dining options to name a few. The "Skyline Pavilion" is a large area within each resort that is enclosed under a white tensile fabric canopy. Born in Plymouth in 1961, Derek Tait spent his early years in Singapore and Malaysia and has written several books about his time there, including 'Sampans, Banyans and Rambutans' and 'Memories of Singapore and Malaya'. Skegness and Bognor resorts each have a spa complex for massage, swimming, facials and other popular spa treatments.
