If there’s a need to explain the plot of Knight Rider and why it’s awesome to anyone in the world… I just don’t know what to do for them. The show has been released on DVD and Blu-ray a couple of times, but Turbine Medien’s new Region-Free Blu-ray boxed set features, for the first time, all four seasons of the show in their original, uncut forms. When you watch this you'll need to be aware of the first series, but try not to cast an opinion based on the warm memories you may have of it as a child. T.’s impressive technology for their own evil purposes, you’ll be blown away by their explosive adventures that set the standard for all TV action series to come. The first time i watched a dvd from my boxset, i could not stop smiling like the little child i used too, what a great feeling.It’s the presentation and plot that changes enough to keep Knight Rider unique, watchable, and most importantly - entertaining.

There’s great imaging for each episode and Stu Phillips and Don Peake’s scores always threads each episode for a rich strong soundscape. The discs are easy to pull out (which is always a major criteria I’m expecting from a dvd) and it’s an absolute pleasure to (re)discover the entire series in its best quality on blu-ray (even if you can’t expect a miracle, though…that’s an 80’s tv series after all which means that the picture as well as the sound are from that time, but they’ve been enhanced).Updated daily and in real-time, we track all high-def disc news and release dates, and review the latest disc titles. I only briefly got a look at the old Millcreek set from 2016 and thought that was pretty decent, I don’t have it available to compare but this set from Turbine is top-shelf material. Everything is housed in a beautiful oversized box with foam inserts to keep those digipaks and swag itels nice and safe. All in all, a fun show but not one you'd really expect to be renewed even tho a second season may be fun.

This amazing box set features all four seasons with excellent A/V, the two made-for-TV movies in SD, the followup Team Knight Rider show in SD, and hours of bonus features in a large beautiful box full of swag. Knight Rider 2010 however leaned on a lot more early CGI for various sequences and it’s a bit dodgy looking. During the first season, the outro was Michael and KITT driving on a road in the desert with Wilton Knight's words of "One man can make a difference, Michael.All of this material is housed in deluxe 10 x 12 slipcase packaging and is limited and numbered, with only 3,939 pieces being made available. The show stars David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a sleek and modern crime fighter assisted by KITT, an advanced, artificially intelligent, self-aware, and nearly indestructible car. Fantastic work on the digital transfer, considering the fact that the show is shot over 25 years ago. There are some moments where scenes can upscale nicely, but any number of video-related anomalies, banding being the worst offender, is present throughout.

Prior to his success in Baywatch many years later, David Hasselhoff became a household name with Knight Rider, which was a big hit for NBC in the early 1980s. Both are sourced from very ancient HD masters, the former looking a minuscule more natural and resolved than the latter. Toss in hours of new and archival bonus features, a 332-page book, and loads of fun swag and you have one hell of an amazing box set to celebrate 40 years of entertainment with.The heart-pounding second season of Knight Rider packs in even more thrills, more high-speed chases, and more full-throttle excitement with dynamic duo Michael Knight and K. Peter Parros as Reginald Cornelius III aka RC3 (Season 4), driver of the FLAG mobile unit and occasional partner for Michael and KITT.
