I sigh again as I get to my feet, mussing his hair on my way up. James makes a strangled sound and jerks away. “What’s the problem?” I ask. I pull up my pants leg to attach a semiautomatic to the holster underneath. “I’ve been a soldier for a long time now. You’ve always known the risks. What’s different all of a sudden?” The only time I felt she had a little punk is when i thought she killed all the representitives. I was like "at least she did something" only for Tahere to throw this out the window in the next book I get Juliette instant attraction to Adam, first person to be able to touch her her whole life? Shes gonna feel something. That something however is not love, if anything its lust and the first taste of friendship she’s ever had all mushed up. And that’s being generous to Mr Dull Potato Adam. The only redeeming quality to Adam is his love for is brother James. I do love it when YA shows some good sibling relationships. I don’t call you Addie in front of anyone else!” James says, protesting before I have a chance to. “I don’t know why it makes you so mad. You said you loved it when Mom called you Addie. Why can’t I?” But the worst thing of all is the fact that abuse is lauded as romantic in these novels. Warner may hurt Juliette and be forgiven for it time and time again all because, beneath his terrible acts, his motives are supposedly based in the fact that he loves her. Nevermind that time and time again his love is portrayed as selfish and only insofar as she benefits him.

What a character. I think hes responsible for at least 3 stars of my review. Without him I would not have been able to read on. He is amazing, fanastic, brilliant, perfect… AAAGH, there are no words for him… I could go on for days... weeks... no years about this book. I would go so into detail and fine tooth comb and break down every chapter if I could, but I wont because I would never want to tarnish, or give out any details to someone who hasn't had the chance to read this masterpiece, because that's what this series is. It's the Mona Lisa of ya novels. A slight mysterious smile that you can't turn away from. It makes you want to scream out loud and kiss Tahereh's forehead and thank her for writing something so on point. so on point. Still half asleep, I grab James by the collar and yank him down, shoving his head under the blanket. He shouts and I laugh, wrapping him up in the sheets until he can’t get out. Warner's obsession with Juliette is terrifying. And I haven't even truly scratched the surface yet. Just because I was told it gets better and because I was promised a strong Female lead (a unicorn amongst books🦄)As for the other characters; James is adorable and funny, loved him. Kenji is fantastic, seriously fantastic. Id give him his own book. I want him as my new best friend, loved loved loved him. Castle was not so great although I did like his and Kenji’s relationship. This ends the original Shatter Me trilogy, but Mafi wrote three more novels 4 years after the completion of the first trilogy. James taps my arm. “Adam.” He taps my arm again. “Did he know where Castle was?” Another tap. “Did he say what time you guys had to leave today?” More tapping. “Adam when are y—”

Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi - Goodreads

I’m breathing so hard my chest is heaving. “Never again,” I say quietly now. “We are never having this conversation. Not ever again.” I am baffled by the fact that people find their relationship romantic. I am deeply saddened by the fact that "broken" characters somehow are given the okay to horrifically damage their partners in the name of love. As if the fact that they love this person makes it okay that they hurt them in these ways. Shatter Me was Mafi’s debut novel and was published when she was only 23 years old. The original trilogy went on to be translated into more than 30 languages and sell more than a million copies. I read it for the romance I found the ending rushed but the love story blew me away. Especially the little moments Juliette and Warner share. Honestly enjoyed this. I did think Adam went through some unnecessary butchering to get the relationships in place, but I'm quite pleased where it ended up (because I'm a fangirl at heart). Speaking of relationships, I thought it was a tad dramatic, but then you had Kenji and his comments poking fun at the drama. That was a nice touch - it showed self-awareness, and ensured that I never felt that this book took itself too seriously.

Breathtaking, wonderful, stunning.... I could use any of those words to describe this series but they would all be understatement.

Unite Me - Tahereh Mafi Unite Me - Tahereh Mafi

The fifth and final novella in the Shatter Me series is a sequel to the explosive conclusion of the final novel. Life in the aftermath of The Reestablishment’s destruction is not easy. Juliette and Warner are working with their friends at the Sanctuary to stabilize the world with limited resources. but the obvious immitation was the ACOTAR theme of hating on the first love interest to make way for the grey red flag character The story is about 17 year old Juliette Ferrars who has a lethal touch. Anything living she touches dies. The short answer is Yes! You can skip the novellas. They aren’t necessary at all to understand the main story. I’m not serious when I say stuff like that.” I try not to roll my eyes. “He and I have been friends for a long time. I’m actually worried about him.”forse sono cretina io, ma non ho veramente capito questa storia dei poteri di Juliette e della sua banda di amiconi. Ma da dove viene questa Energia? Cosa provoca questi particolari doni? Buuuuuuuut Adam and Juliette? It's like if Feyre stayed with Tamlin instead of going to Velaris with Rhys in ACOMAF and through ACOWAR. Like, imagine that. It's a sinking ship.

Me: Destroy Me and Fracture Me (Shatter Me Novellas) Unite Me: Destroy Me and Fracture Me (Shatter Me Novellas)

Tahereh Mafi is a best-selling YA Fantasy author best known for the Shatter Me series. However, she’s also written other books like This Woven Kingdom and A Very Large Expanse of Sea. The latter was named one of the best YA books of all time by Time Magazine. Wow after reading this book I can say it seriously messed me up. Whilst reading the first book I kept thinking what on earth am I reading but I kept going. Then you get to warners POV and OMG so many emotions juliettes diary was so well written you could physically feel her pain and most of all the pain warner feels for her. I found Kenji to be much more genuine than that. Indeed, he was the one who was absolutely committed to rescuing Juliette. As a matter of fact, he even placed the blame on himself. He’s the one who points out to Adam that he should be anxious, but Adam declines because he wants to enjoy the moment of calm they’ve found and not jeopardise James’ safety for no good reason. Present your case for why Adam should win Juliette’s heart. Simply said, I can’t imagine how he can save face in light of this information. Never mind what he did in the first two volumes. Forgiveness is important in life, for sure, but I don't think it plays a role here. There are some things that are unforgivable. And honestly? If Warner genuinely wanted to develop himself and become a better person, it should have been with someone else. To have Juliette degrade herself and regress entirely in her character development to the point that she falls for her abuser was disturbing on a number of insane levels.

Fracture Me is told from Adam’s perspective and bridges the gap between Unravel Me and Ignite Me. As the Omega Point rebels prepare to fight the Sector 45 soldiers, Adam’s more focused on the safety of Juliette, Kenji, and his brother. At that, I freeze, and James can feel it. He goes quiet in my arms, and I let him go. He untangles himself from my sheets, and we stare at each other. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal, but The Reestablishment has plans for her. Plans to use her as a weapon. But Juliette has plans of her own. After a lifetime without freedom, she's finally discovering a strength to fight for herself—and for a future with the one boy she thought she'd lost forever. But do we excuse him for shouting at J. for wanting to bring W. Into the fold and not understanding the trauma Adam went through? Oh no how could he shout at poor defenssless J who needed the blond guy to rescue her!!!! I can’t help but laugh a little. “Why am I weird? And hey, stop calling me Addie—you know how much I hate that—”
