Bella, whose jealous instincts led her to enjoy the description which her confessor offered, and who was quite as eager as himself for the completion of this outrageous programme, readily expressed her willingness to comply. Bella and Julia eventually become nuns, and the book ends as they participate in an orgy with 14 priests.

Repetitive in the extreme, the majority of the narrative involves constant, industrial sounding references to male genitalia which could have been lifted out of an engineering textbook, e.g. 'redoubtable engine', 'immense shaft', 'stiffened machine', 'huge rammer,' you get the idea. I shall submit myself to all, my Father, " replied the girl; I know my duty now better, and that I am one of those favoured ones selected to relieve the desires of the good Fathers. " Ambrose, however, had husbanded his resources, and now held the pretty girl in front of him, firmly impaled upon his huge affair.

Clement had hardly withdrew his monstrous affair from the belly of the young Bella, then, reeking from the arms of her huge lover, she fell into those of Ambrose. The most notable detail of this book is the flagellation themed poetry of Algernon Charles Swinbure. Possibly due to the prevalence of harsh corporal punishment at school and at home, many Victorian gentlemen enjoyed reading about the birch and the cane (and paying for similar treatment in popular flagellation brothels).
